OffBook does not collect any personal information. The app does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal details.
All data you create within the app — including productions, scripts, characters, rehearsal sessions, and confidence scores — is stored locally on your device only.
2. Camera Permission
OffBook requests access to your device's camera solely to allow you to import scripts by photographing a physical document. This is an optional feature.
Images captured through the camera are processed entirely on your device. They are never stored, saved to your photo library, uploaded to any server, or shared with any third party. Once the text has been extracted, the image is immediately discarded.
3. Microphone Permission
OffBook requests access to your device's microphone solely to enable the line rehearsal feature, which allows you to speak your lines aloud and have them checked against your script. This is an optional feature.
Speech recognition is processed via Google's speech recognition service, which means audio is transmitted to Google's servers for the purpose of converting your speech to text. This is handled by Android's standard speech recognition API and is subject to Google's own privacy policy. OffBook does not receive, store, or retain any audio recordings or transcriptions beyond what is needed to check your spoken line in the moment.
4. Internet Access
OffBook requires internet access for the following limited purposes only:
- Processing speech recognition via Google's speech recognition service when using the line rehearsal feature
- Processing the optional one-off Pro unlock purchase via Google Play's billing system
- Receiving app updates delivered through the Google Play Store
Internet access is not used to transmit any personal data, script content, rehearsal data, or usage information beyond what is described above. No analytics, advertising, or tracking services are connected to this app.
5. Data Storage
All app data is stored locally on your device using Android's standard local storage. This includes:
- Script and production data you enter or import
- Rehearsal session history and confidence scores
- App settings and preferences
This data is never transmitted off your device and is only accessible by the OffBook app.
6. Third-Party Services
OffBook uses Google Play's billing system to process the optional one-off Pro unlock purchase. This transaction is handled entirely by Google Play and is subject to Google's own privacy policy. OffBook does not receive or store any payment information.
No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.
7. Children's Privacy
OffBook does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. As the app collects no personal data whatsoever, it is safe for use by all ages.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
